There is HOPE

By Katherine Lacano

Job 11:18- "And thou shalt be secure , because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety."

I got a very terrible news from my father last night. He said that his co-worker and a close friend of his was brought to the hospital because of psychological problem. His friend was not able to bear the problems in life anymore.

According to Inquirer Opinion (dated Feb 7, 2013), between 17 and 20 percent of the Philippines' adult population have mental disorders. This is such a depressing fact.

The Lord did not promise a bed of roses life. 2 Corinthians 4: 8-9 states that we are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. We will experience troubles while we are still in the flesh but Paul said in verses 17-18: For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. What a wonderful thing to look forward to!

We can live in faith and hope every single day because God promised that He will be with us always. And God keeps His promises.

When the storm comes, look up to Jesus. He will give you the strength to go through it all. God will never ever abandon you.  So hold on my friend, trust God to work in your life.

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll;
whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul. ~Spafford

Cast Your Cares Upon Jesus

By Katherine Lacano

1 Peter 5:7- "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."

I listened to one of Pastor Bo's strong preachings and he cited that so many Christians today are baptized with vinegar. So many Christians today have sour faces. Funny but very sad and true.

We are quickly overwhelmed by problems--- financial, health, relationships, opinions of other people, and many others. True happiness is not dependent on the circumstance but from whom we know. The Lord said in Matthew 11: 28-30- "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." The Lord cares for us very deeply.

Do you know what the problem is? The real problem is we forget to ASK God for help. He said, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God" (Philippians 4:6-7).

You might be in a situation that seems to be hopeless. My friend, bring your matter to God. He is always ready to answer you and carry you... just ASK, just keep on asking. You' won't be sorry you did!

Happy Mother's Day!

By Katherine Lacano

Last Sunday, we celebrated Mother's day. I want to greet Happy mother's day to all mommies, nanays, mamas all over the world!

I thank God personally for my mama. She taught me to love God and His Word. She trained me in a way that when I grow up I will not be lost. When I was young, she read me Bible stories and she watched me when I pray. Her love and prayers played a powerful impact in my life--- a legacy I would also pass on to my sons and daughters.
I love this pic of me and my ma :)

swimming time with mama:)

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Going Nowhere Fast

By Katherine Lacano

Do you ever feel like you're running to no direction? Do you ever feel like you've lost your First Love? My friend, God is ready to redeem and restore your joy in Him. He will never give up on you (John 10:28). Hang in there...

I was running a hundred miles per hour
It felt good for a moment
Faking my cause
Taking pleasure for here and now
Then there's a whisper in my ear
I took it easy
Oh it's just nothing, I uttered
Lingering for here and now
Then there's the sound of an outcry
But alone I was in the streets
I was not moved
Drifting for here and now

Then there's a loud shout
It was crystal clear
I found myself in the road of Damascus
Mourning over my halfheartedness
So it's been You all along
It was You speaking softly to me to take heed of myself
It was You crying to me to fervently keep myself
Lest I fail to remember the things I have seen
I was on my knees again
Searching for answers
Talking to my heart
Listening to the voice of truth

Serve Day in Caretta Elementary School

By Katherine Lacano

Colossians 3:17

"And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him."

Last May 4th, Cross Pointe Church organized SERVE OTHERS activity in Caretta Elementary School in Cebu.

Excited to clean and paint

SERVE OTHERS is the church's program which is done once a year. The main objective is to give joy to the students and teachers by cleaning and painting their classrooms.

Before the classroom was cleaned and painted

Joyful to serve

We were very exhausted yet the experience was amazing and humbling. The teachers cannot believe the classrooms' transformation. All of us were grateful by God's provision and grace. We pray that God will give us the strength and joy to reach out and may this commitment continue to grow.
